Reports of the Officers
President’s Introduction: Steve McDaniel opened the meeting with an update of his contacts with the MDA with regards to their decision to cease operations of the ETO chamber. Steve reported that many of the decision makers at MDA are relatively new to beekeeping, and believe that ‘everything is fine’. The main drivers behind their decision are the costs associated with operating the chamber, and a review of their regulations, which apparently bar them from providing services.
Motion by John Moyer, seconded by Jerry Fisher, to investigate the costs of owning and operating the ETO chamber, and to build a business case for doing so, passed by unanimous voice vote.
Secretary's Report: David Morris was not present; Steve McDaniel presented the minutes of the Board meeting of May 22, 2009.
