After much discussion, Toni Burnham moved that the Board accept this document with the following edits approved at this meeting. This motion accepted by unanimous voice vote.

Edits to Best Management Practices document:

1. The Title of the document shall be changed from
“ Best Management Practices for Maintaining Honey Bee Colonies in Maryland”
to
“Recommended Management Practices for Maintaining Honey Bee Colonies in Maryland”
to avoid any perception that this document is legally binding (it is not.)

2.) The phrase “honey bees” shall replace the word “bees” in all places in the document.

3.) The word “beekeepers” shall replace any synonyms, such as “apiarists” in all places in the document.

4.) The section headers shall be revised for clarity as suggested by David Morris.

This document may be further amended by the Board at a future time. This will be noted as Version 1, 1/22/2010.

MSBA President Paul Dill shall present this document to the members at the February General Meeting. The edited document is Appendix A of this document.
