Christopher Rosario is state entomologist for the Guam Department of Agriculture and founder of the Guam Beekeepers’ Association.

He earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Guam in 2012. In 2013, Rosario worked part time under Ross Miller, Ph.D., research entomologist at the University of Guam. Miller’s projects involved surveying for agricultural pests, which included the National Honey Bee Survey (NHBS) led by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal Plant Health Inspection Service and the Bee Informed Partnership.

In 2021, Rosario received his master’s degree in environmental science with a focus on entomology.

Greater Banded Hornet

Invasive hornet a buzzkill for local beekeeping industry

Dave Dobbs is an EAS Certified Master Beekeeper. He is a "sideliner", with 47 colonies across 4 apiaries, and a full extraction production processing facility in his Marriottsville “Honey House Facility.”

Dave is a strong outreach advocate. He educates the community on wax rendering, pollination, candle making, honey collection, frame building, swarm trap and hive box building, and the many skills people need to become better beekeepers.

Dave has also served his community as President of the Howard County Beekeepers Association, and Course Director for the HCBA Beginner Beekeeping Course.

FUN FACTS:
* Dave started keeping bees in 2015 because he wanted to increase his vegetable garden yield and noticed there weren’t many honey bees in his yard.
* Dave is now retired as a National Cyber Security Expert

We will be in BPS 1250, which is inside of the main entrance (facing Hornbake Plaza), around the corner to the Left, and the room entrance is located to the Right.

Folks can park in Regents Parking Garage (Floors 1-3), 3rd floor has a walkway directly to Hornbake Plaza and entrance to the BPS building.
